JET FUEL BASICS

Jet A | spec sheet
Early proponents of aviation turbine engines claimed that they
could run on any fuel. Well, lucky for us, they were wrong.
Although turbine engines are much more fuel tolerant than gasoline
and diesel engines, a jet engine's fuel system is incredibly sensitive
to the physical and chemical properties of fuels. Aviation fuels
are the most complex, rigidly controlled products produced by oil
refiners because a great number of physical and chemical properties
must be maintained in order to produce a fuel that will perform
consistently and safely.
- Excellent low temperature flow properties
- Combustion efficiency: burns efficiently and cleanly
- Energy content: provides maximum Btu's and efficient
energy storage
- Stability: passes industry's most stringent test, the
JFTOT at 275°F
- Cleanliness: delivered clear and bright, free of rust,
water and sediment
- Water separation: AGE does not add any surfactants or
antioxidants
Quality Control: Jet fuel batches are certified by experienced
lab personnel who have nearly 100 years of testing knowledge. Samples
are tested and approved at strategic locations in the distribution
system to provide quality assurance.
