Diesel fuel is formulated for engines found
in buses, trucks, ships, and locomotives, which are commonly heavier
and more powerful than gasoline engines. Diesel fuel, which is less
volatile than gasoline, is made up of heavier petroleum fractions.
Some of diesel's benefits compared to regular gasoline are related
to power, economy, wear, easy start, and emissions. Even though
its primary use is for vehicle engines such as trucks and buses,
diesel is also used to produce electricity, power marine engines,
and as a fuel for the production of energy in burners and boilers.
Specifically, AGE produces two grades of diesel:
AGE LED - The use of this product will allow the end-user to meet emission reductions as mandated by the State of Texas.
Diesel No. 2 - Improved Low Temperature Performance: During the
peak winter season, all low sulfur No. 2 diesel fuel from AGE will
have a maximum cloud point of +26° F.
- Balanced Boiling Range: Enhances vaporization of fuel
for easy starting, power output, and economy
- Proper Viscosity: Ensures proper lubrication of pumps
and injectors and enhances combustion
- Gum Formation: Harmful gum deposits are minimized because
it is not hydrotreated
Quality Control: Diesel batches are certified by rigid laboratory
standards and samples are tested and approved at strategic locations
in the distribution system to provide quality assurance.
